About James

James returned to the Treasure Valley in 1993, and has lived with his wife and four children at their home in Garden City since 2007.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at Boise State University, and his Juris Doctor from Concordia University School of Law.

James worked for the State of Idaho for 14 years in various positions with The Idaho Department of Correction, The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole, and The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections.

In 2003, James left government employment and started a small business.  He is a lawyer and a nationally-certified polygraph examiner.  James provides legal services and quasi-legal services at his offices in Garden City, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls.

James served five years as a Commissioner on Garden City's Planning and Zoning Commission.   During law school, he interned as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Garden City.  In the fall of 2019, he was honored to accept Mayor Evans’s appointment to the Garden City Council, where he looks forward to his ongoing service to Garden City.  These experiences make James the top candidate for your vote on November 5, 2019.

James has served on several boards of directors for non-profit organizations, volunteered at the Idaho Innocence Project, the Idaho Street Law Clinic, and as a Guardian Ad Litem attorney advocating for the interests of at-risk and underserved children.

In his free time, James enjoys photography, travel, spending time with his family, and turning wrenches on classic cars and trucks.
